Welcome to the Hingham Girl Scout House (HGSH)
The HGSH is a historic treasure located in the center of Hingham. Built for the Girl Scouts in 1930, it continues to serve as a meeting place for Girl Scouts and is available for rent to the public based on availability and purpose.
History & Preservation
The Hingham Girl Scout House was the first house dedicated to Girl Scouts that built in New England, thanks to the efforts of the community at large.

Capacity & Amenities
The House can accommodate up to 150 people auditorium style or 60-80 people at tables. It has a variety of amenities including a heated meeting hall, large indoor fireplace, outdoor area with a fire ring, tables and chairs. Location
The House is located at 26 Burr Road in Hingham. It is located on a quiet street across the from a Town playground, tennis courts, and playing fields.
Parking is available on the street but please do not park on the sidewalk directly in front of the house, which is a fire lane. Overflow parking may be found at Town Hall, depending on the day and time.

Girl Scout House - Committee Meetings
We have a very active group of volunteers working to keep the historic Girl Scout House operating for the benefit of all troops. The committee meets three times each year to prioritize maintenance needs and discuss revenue opportunities such as renting the house for birthday parties, fundraisers, and donations. Open to all registered adults in Hingham, the committee meets 3 times a year - October, January, and April. Email the Hingham Service Unit Coordinator for more info.
